In her story, Paige shares wisdom learned from Ken. She cautions young people with the advice to really define your dreams. If you don't know where you're going, or where you want to end up, you'll find yourself walking in circles.
I kept my goals really vague. I wanted a job I loved and to make money. But it wasn't a real goal. When I started working with Ken, I was able to define the things that made me confortable and happy.

First, ask yourself, what is it you want? I married young and had children young. I answered an ad with Ken's company, but I didn't really know what I wanted to do or what my goals were.
Once I worked with Ken, he helped me figure out what my goals and dreams really are. The actions we take today are what create your dream days or years from now. You can get there - and I'm an example of that. I started digging trenches and shoveling stone. If I can do it, you can do it.

When I first started working with Ken, I didn't really know where I was going or what I was doing. I wanted to go to college, because that's what I thought I was supposed to do.
But you don't have to do that to be successful. There are a lot of jobs out there that don't require college degrees.
Being in control of my life is amazing.

Ken has helped me start to pursue my goals. I've been a craftsman for a number of years. I never really thought I would start to make anything of it – but I would talk to Ken about these ideas. He would say, "This is something you could pursue and turn into something special."
Once you start on your path, you never turn back.
